Visitors to the Damson Dene Hotel get the best of both possible worlds- a tranquil position in the heart of the countryside and easy access to the main attractions of the South Lakes. Damson Dene is renowned for its friendly welcoming atmosphere and its excellent facilities, which include a swimming pool, gym and its very own visitor attraction- the wonderful Lakeland Model Village.
Guests looking for additional luxury and relaxation can book one of the cabins in the hotel grounds, which have their own private hot-tub and wood-burning stove.
The hotel takes its name from the famous damson orchards nearby. Each year the annual Damson Day festival attracts visitors to herald the arrival of the white damson blossom.

The Damson Dene Hotel has 60 en-suite bedrooms, including 22 superior rooms, some with 4-Poster beds.
There are three delightful family suites located in the grounds of the hotel. We offer double bedded, twin bedded or family sized standard rooms. Each room offers ensuite bath or shower room, television, radio, ironing facilities, tea and coffee making facilities and direct dial telephone. Many offer spectacular views across the Lakeland valley.

Amazing new woodland cabins are now available in the grounds of the Damson Dene Hotel!
The 3 spacious cabins feature a double bed, sofa bed, wood burning stove, TV, wifi and en suite.
Outside there is a spacious private terrace with hot tub and garden seating.
All cabin guests enjoy free use of the Damson Dene Hotel’s leisure facilities including the swimming pool. Our cabins sleep 2 adults and up to 2 children, and breakfast is included in the rate. Minimum booking - 2 nights.
Heron View Restaurant
Dining at the Damson Dene is a real pleasure with the setting as good as the dishes on offer. Our menu changes daily and offers a wide choice. We use locally grown fresh, seasonal fruit, vegetables and herbs whenever possible. Much of it is supplied from owner Jonathan Denby’s Victorian kitchen garden at Yewbarrow House.

Lakeland Model Village
The Lakeland Model Village is a family attraction located on the grounds of Damson Dene Hotel featuring several dozen buildings made of local Coniston slate, handcrafted to replicate some of Cumbria’s most iconic farms and cottages including Beatrix Potters house, Hilltop, Slaters Bridge in Little Langdale and the Bridge House, Ambleside. Open every day of the year 9am – 5:30pm
